eat drink and be merry

Eat drink and be merry is an idiom which means that as humans, we should enjoy life as much as possible because you never know when it will be over. The original saying Eat drink and be merry, for tomorrow we die is based on verses from the biblical books of Ecclesiastes and Isaiah where they were to die soon and wanted to enjoy what little of life they had left. It is often used more casually as a way to encourage someone to enjoy a party or celebration.
